Donating Furniture in Olympia🛋️ | Where To Take Furniture Donations Olympia WA

Last Updated on: 5th March 2024, 11:30 am

There are a number of reasons why you might have used furniture in Olympia that is in good condition that you have no use for anymore. Maybe you’re downsizing or redecorating. You might be moving across the country and not taking your furniture with you. Perhaps you’re just tired of what you have and need a change in scenery in your living room. Whatever the reason is, you end up with furniture that’s still usable that you either don’t need or want or that won’t fit in your new place of residence.

You’re probably looking at several options to get rid of your furniture, such as selling it and making a few dollars or hauling it to the trash dump. But you shouldn’t throw away perfectly good furniture, as it’s not ideal for the environment or other people who could use the donation. So before you have the lawn sale or take that trip to the dump, consider another, better option you might not have thought about. Donating your old furniture can benefit you, the environment, and help someone else in the process.

Not only is donating your old or unused furniture to a charitable organization a good deed, but it’s also a tax-saving strategy. If your furniture is in good condition, it qualifies for a deduction when filing your yearly tax returns. You can write off the furniture’s current fair market value. The IRS has guidelines for determining the value of donated property available for you to use.

Many of the Olympia furniture donation drop-off and pickup charities also have a comprehensive list of furniture prices based on the condition of the item to help you determine the fair market value of your donation. Check out this example from Goodwill. If you’re wondering where to take furniture donations Olympia WA, check out our list below.

Furniture Donation Pick Up in Olympia WA

Please keep in mind that although All Ready Moving is glad to assist you with your Olympia move, we do not assist with your charitable furniture donations. However, we have put together this list of charities and organizations that do! You don’t have to worry about how you’re going to lug that couch down the steps or fit it into your car so you can take it to a donation center. Donating furniture in Olympia doesn’t have to be complicated! Most charitable organizations will come with a truck and a qualified crew, pick up the furniture for you, and take it to the local charity.

Also keep in mind that not all charities accept furniture donations, and some only accept small furniture or certain types of furniture. For example, you might be able to take your couch there but not your mattress and box springs. So, how do you know which charities will pick up your large furniture items or the specific items you want to donate? This Olympia furniture donation guide can help by giving you the best charity furniture donation centers in Olympia WA.
